Virus–Cell Interactions
The small size of most plant virus genomes and their very limited coding capacities requires that plant viruses are dependent on proteins expressed by the host plant for all stages of their life cycle. Understanding the interactions that exist between virus and plant proteins provides insights into many aspects of fundamental plant processes, and will help us to develop effective strategies to combat plant virus disease. Some of our projects that focus on molecular interactions between viruses and their plant host are listed below.
