R. secalis epidemiological parameters work

Variety mixtures can be very effective for controlling fungal diseases in cereals. This is especially effective in the case of a splash dispersed pathogen such as R. secalis where in complex mixtures decreased infection is correlated with increased component number. The mechanistic basis, that is, the epidemiological parameters, are investigated and modelled in conjunction with colleagues in the Environment Plant Interactions programme.
