Molecular Interactions

Molecular Interactions between barley and its pathogens (Rhynchosporium secalis and Blumeria graminis)R.secalis in a field

We investigate the nature of host molecular mechanisms underlying resistance and disease development by integrating global gene expression analysis data with high-throughput functional validation of host genes using virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS). We aim at identifying host regulatory pathways functionally important to resistance and susceptibility in barley infected by Rhynchosporium secalis and Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei.
