HRH The Princess Royal to visit SCRI
Buckingham Palace has confirmed that HRH The Princess Royal is to visit SCRI in early June.
She will open a new glasshouse block at our Invergowrie headquarters.
The new building houses the National Seed Store, a facility of world importance that includes the Commonwealth Potato Collection.
The Princess Royal will also visit SCRI's Balruddery Farm near Fowlis which is the site of the Centre for Sustainable Cropping. SCRI scientists are developing methods of farming that will keep crop yields high without harm to biodiversity and sensitive ecosystems.
The Royal visit is scheduled for Monday 7 June. Phil Taylor, SCRI's Head of Communications said: "We are all thrilled that the visit is going ahead. The science teams here are really looking forward to meeting Her Royal Highness and explaining the importance of the work going on in Invergowrie and at Balruddery."

I'm sure that was a thrill
I'm sure that was a thrill for everyone. We had President Obama visit but I think your guest was just as impressive!
