Water Workshop at SCRI
With recent record rainfall in many areas you could be forgiven for thinking we know all there is to know about water. But SCRI has been hosting a workshop that concentrated on nothing but water!
The UK Controlled Environment Users’ Group (CEUG) 2008 Water Workshop was held over four days at Dundee’s West Park conference centre with several visits to SCRI included in the programme.
CEUG is a specialist organisation whose members are involved in technical or research work at universities and public and private research institutes.
Topics for the conference included water vapour generators and sensors, soil moisture measurement, irrigation and calibration.
Given the work now being done on climate change and sustainable development at centres like SCRI, it’s not surprising that one special area of focus for the workshop was the efficient use of water and recycling.
The speakers and delegates at the conference came from a wide variety of backgrounds including the Plant Sciences Division at the University of Dundee, the National Physical Laboratory in England, the French Institut National d’Horticulture and the East Malling research centre in Kent..
