SCRI is committed to preventing pollution, adopting and promoting environmental best practice in connection with its operations.

To achieve this SCRI will seek to:

• Regularly assess and review its environmental aspects and impacts.
• Implement operational control procedures.
• Monitor environmental performance through Environmental Management Review meetings and audits.
• Comply with all relevant legislative and other requirements.
• Operate an environmental management system that meets the requirements of the ISO 14001 and which is systematically maintained, reviewed and revised to ensure continuous improvement.
• Set environmental objectives and targets.
• Allocate sufficient resources to achieve its environmental objectives and targets within budgetary constraints.
• Appoint competent personnel to co-ordinate the environmental management system.
• Ensure competency through provision of training and communication.
